Hi Guys,
As I find we are a lot of people with diverse backgrounds and from diverse countries. How about we make a film which binds all of us together.
Take for example a teen, who faces the same kindsa problem in each of our environments and reacts differently to it. If we could each get together and create a movie of this kind, it would be great.

Nice idea in theory, but extremely unlikely, impractical and a little pointless in reality.
Even if you wanted to just write a film that everyone had input into; writing by committee rarely works.
Sorry to sound harsh, but someone has to say it.

I came across a similar idea a few years back...
Basically, a script is written by 1 person, and is posted on (say this board for arguments sake).
The project was to give the same script to a different bunch of crews and they had to go off and make the film as they saw fit!
The rules were that the script wasn't allowed to be edited in any, and the dialogue had to be stuck to, but however is was made was totally upto the individual crews / casts.
After everyone had been given the scripts, they were given, say, a week to shoot and edit the film as they wanted.
At the end, all the crews got together and did a screening of their version of the films, to see how it had differed from the others.
Maybe we can do something like that?

This idea comes up a lot, at least once a year
While I think it's a very good idea it never seems to come off.
It's the sort of project that needs a leader, to badger all the participants to deliver the goods.
I wonder if we should just take a cue from "Who is the indy filmmaker" and film a 10 second monologue of ourselves in a poignent location near where we live, and then stitch all those together somehow ...
